Australian National Busking Championships

The Australian National Busking Championships is all about celebrating music and street performance in all it's rich and wonderful variety.

The Australian National Busking Championships™ was established in 2012 in the picturesque Snowy Mountains township of Cooma.

Since then the ANBC has grown to include 7 Annual Regional Competitions in 4 States: New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia and Victoria. These are in addition to an ANBC National Grand Final held each year in Cooma NSW.

These Regional Competitions have been designed to be part of a grassroots national network of low-cost music festivals. These Busking Competitions enhance tourism, bring performers from near and far, and add live music, colour, excitement and fun to participating towns. The economic benefits for local businesses in these towns are also considerable.

Another aim of ANBC is to encourage and develop career pathways for emerging musicians and performing artists. There are many separate categories to make all the awards as inclusive as possible. Substantial prize money is sponsored by businesses in these participating towns and their local councils.

The Australian National Busking Championships™ is set to steadily grow throughout Australia with expressions of interest coming from over 20 more regional towns.
